This week in the Ladybirds class we have been learning about road safety, we have been reading stories and watching videos about how to stay safe by the roads and also when inside a moving vehicle.

We have had some fun activities linked to the topic and as you can see from the picture above, writing ‘stop’ and ‘gow’ (go) signs has been a popular one (independent writing – wow!). We have also been matching numbered cars to their correct car parking space, painting traffic lights and reading addition sentences, using the numicon tiles to find the total and then painting the traffic cone to match the right number colour.

The children have also been practising the road safety rule, ‘stop, look and listen’, when crossing on the track outside and the children using the cars and bikes have learnt they need to stop at a zebra crossing and not go too fast.
