Today in Tulips, we thought about our right to be safe when we are crossing roads as we took part in a road safety workshop.
We learnt about the Green Cross Code, which means we have to Stop, Look, Listen and Think when we cross the road.
We also discussed some of our safer places to cross. These included zebra crossings, puffin or pelican crossings, traffic islands, the school crossing patrol or lollipop lady outside of our school, and others such as footbridges and subways.
We also thought about safe behaviour beside roads, such as making sure we always face the road when crossing and ensuring that we are not too close to the edge by keeping back from the kerb.
