As part of a week’s work on writing formal letters, Year 6 engaged in some role-playing activities which were based around lodging a complaint about inadequate customer service. Their task was to use formal language when detailing their experiences. Acting out scenarios as wide ranging as an unsightly view from a hotel room, an unfortunate cockroach infestation and inappropriate behaviour from other diners in a restaurant, the children had to get their points across, while remaining calm and polite. The exercise was great as a rehearsal for writing a plan of a formal letter of complaint. Well done everyone!
