This week in our topic lesson we have compared the sizes of our Solar System’s planets. We used a pair of compasses to draw the inner planets; however, we encountered a problem with the gas giants (outer planets) – they were too big. We decided to improvise and use chalk tape measures and skipping ropes to help. Mercury measured 5cm in diameter whilst Jupiter measured 140cm. Look at how many of the Beeches it holds!
