On Tuesday, Year 6 visited the scene of the 1914 bombardment of Hartlepool.

Heugh Battery is a fantastic museum where the children were able to handle items from the armoury, experience being in a trench and tour the grounds – grounds that were bombarded by the German Navy in the December of 1914.

The museum volunteers were highly informative and the group learned a great deal about life during World War One.
