We have had a busy week of learning in the Ladybirds class, finding out about all of the important events that happen at this time of year.  We began the week by learning about Bonfire Night.  We used shuffle boxes with pom-poms as fireworks in the sky, to help us with our part, part whole Maths.  We closely watched a video showing us different types of fireworks, discussing the colours and shapes they make in the sky.  Following this we used a choice of techniques to create our own fireworks paintings, decorating them with glitter and sequins to make them sparkle and shine! We also used different materials to create some transient art, making our own interpretations of fireworks on black card to represent the night sky! Nearing the end of the week, we discussed the reasons why we wear poppies at this time of year.  We learned all about Remembrance Day and created our own poppies using tissue paper and buttons.
