Yesterday in the Robins we went outside and used different coloured crayons to do tree bark rubbings. We then came back into the classroom and used these rubbings to create flower pictures. This is all part of our Science topic of plants.
After the first week our sunflowers are starting to grow. Every morning we check them and every other day we water them. We have also updated our sunflower seed diaries!!!
Our topic in Science this half term is plants. We all planted our own sunflower seed. We need to remember to water our seeds and then hopefully we will have 27 amazing sunflowers!!! We will keep you posted!!!
The Robins and the Snowdrops had the best attendance this half term. Today the two classes were able to come to school in non school uniform and they got juice and a biscuit at break-time. Let's see which classes get it next half term. Well done to the Robins and the...
The Norman Feast was a great finale to our 'King of the Castle' topic. We have had lots of fun learning about the Battle of Hastings, where the Normans won. We then had a Norman Feast, where we ate bread, cheese and fruit and drank the children's version of mead.
The children had a great time at the PTFA disco this week as you can see by the photographs.
The Robins really enjoyed the internet safety workshop. They learnt how to deal with cyber bullies and how to keep our personal information private. Thank you to Amy for making the workshop fun!!!
As part of our history topic 'King of the Castle', which is all about The Battle of Hastings the children made shields and took on the role of a Norman or Saxon soldier. We re-enacted The Battle of Hastings on the school yard with William of Normandy leading the...
The fire service came to visit Year 2 to talk to them about being a firefighter and keeping themselves safe. The children found out about the equipment the firefighters use, dressed up in the uniform and had great fun!
In PE this week the Robins have been acting out creatures and plant life from the Rainbow Fish story. We acted out octopuses, star fish, seaweed and coral. It was a lot of fun!!!
In the Robins we have been looking at how to be safe on the internet. We put on masks and pretended to be different people. We know it is very important that we don't share our information with people we don't know because they might trick you like the Big Bad Wolf!!!!
We have really enjoyed mixing different paints to make skin colours. This was in preparation for our Royal portraits!!!
