The children all seemed to have had a lovely Easter half term and came back safe and well. Our topic this half term is all about the garden and outdoors. What grows in the garden? How we can look after it? This week they have been spending lots of time enjoying outdoor learning involving weeding our flower beds getting them ready to plant our bean plants that they so kindly looked after during the half term break. Great fun was had playing in the sand, water and mud kitchen as well generally having fun in the sun. A first music lesson was experienced this week. They were shown how to use their body as percussion and were introduced to rhythm. Another new lesson this week was ICT. They went to the ICT room for the first time which was a great experience for them. Once there, they were shown how to log on and use a programme called ‘paint’ to paint a spring picture. In Maths they have been learning about money. The children have had great fun looking at all the different coins and the value of each one. During P.E. the children made their own movements linked to planting seeds. A fun filled first week back.
