Welcome

Dear Visitor

On behalf of the staff, children and governors we would like to welcome you to Windy Nook Primary School and our website. Our school caters for approximately 330 pupils from 3 years to 11 years of age. The present school site was opened as a Primary School in 1993, on the existing Infant School site.

We were last inspected by OFSTED in June 2023 where we were graded as good. The inspector noted that, ‘The school is an oasis of calm. The whole school community works hard, shows respect, courtesy and good manners and enjoys being together.’ Please visit the Ofsted section of our website for more information.

At Windy Nook Primary, we believe that all children ‘can do’ and should be encouraged to become independent, to develop self-esteem, to make decisions and to take responsibility for their own actions. We have high expectations of our children in terms of behaviour and concern for others and, as a Rights Respecting School, this ethos underpins everything we do.

We work to develop strong links between home and school, recognising the important role parents and carers play in the education of their child. The success of our school is dependent on the relationships we build with everyone and we have a pro-active Governing Body and PTFA who support the work of the school.

We aim to keep the whole school community informed through regular newsletters, the website, our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Each term we offer parents and carers the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and we are always pleased to meet you at other times.

We look forward to working with you to ensure that your child gets the first class education they deserve.
