This week, in line with our Life on the Tyne topic, Snowdrops, Tulips and Bluebells have started learning about Geordie folk songs. We have been learning the song, ‘The Herrin’s Heed.’ The children discussed the rise and fall of pitch, the reasons that some notes were the same and some different, plus managed to understand some of the Geordie phrases featured in the song.
The three classes will continue to work on the song, learning more about various local folk songs as they go.
