Plans are underway for a fantastic day of literary fun as the school prepares for World Book Day on Thursday 6 March 2025. Children should have come home from school with a letter, detailing all the important events. If you did not receive a letter, please let your child’s teacher know and we can provide this. Our School Council have been working hard on the plans and will help to deliver the events.

The main things to know are that:

  1. All children are invited to come to school dressed as a character from a book. We are encouraging parents not to buy anything new. We will send (by Arbor) a list of costume ideas made of things you likely have at home already. We will also have a rack of donated costumes at the school office and parents can take one of these if they like. Children will not need to bring in money to dress up.
  2. Children in Key Stage 1 and 2 can bring in a book from home to permanently swap with a classmate.
  3. Parents/Carers in Key Stage One will be able to attend school on Thu 6 March for a class assembly and chance to read at school with their child. You will need to book this using the reply slip on the letter sent home earlier this week.

We look forward to making it a magical day for children at the school.
