This week, we launched our brand‑new Maths strand all about weight—and what an exciting start it was!
The children explored a range of classroom objects and used balancing scales to investigate which items were heavier and which were lighter. They worked brilliantly together, making predictions, testing their ideas, and discussing their findings using mathematical language.This hands‑on learning helped the children build confidence as young mathematicians, encouraging them to think carefully, compare carefully, and explain their reasoning. The classroom was full of curiosity, teamwork, and lots of “wow!” moments as the children discovered that some objects were not as light—or as heavy—as they first expected!We can’t wait to continue this practical Maths experience next week, where the children will build on these early skills and take part in even more exciting investigations
