🚦 Road Safety -Stop, Look, Listen & Think 🚦

This week, our Reception and KS1 children welcomed a special Road Safety visitor to school. The session was full of fun, learning and important reminders to help keep our children safe when they are out and about in the community.

Through stories, discussion and role play, the children learned all about how to stay safe near roads. They impressed us with their listening and sensible ideas!

✅ We reminded the children about:

  • Stopping, looking and listening before crossing the road
  • Always crossing with a grown‑up
  • Using zebra crossings, traffic lights and lollipop people where possible
  • Walking on the pavement and staying away from the road
  • Wearing bright or reflective clothing so they are easy to see, especially in winter

The children took turns practising how to cross the road safely and showed excellent understanding. They asked thoughtful questions and were keen to show what they already knew. We encourage families to continue these conversations at home and practise road safety skills whenever you are out together. Working together helps our children build safe habits for life. Thank you to our visitor for an engaging and informative session – and well done to all our super road safety stars!
