Key Stage 1 were delighted to welcome visitors from the Gateshead Library Service for a special session focused on empathy through storytelling. The children listened carefully to a range of stories and explored how different characters might feel in a variety of situations. Thoughtful discussions followed, with pupils sharing their ideas about emotions and how our actions can affect others.
To deepen their understanding, the children created their own drawings showing ways to make someone feel welcome in our school. Their ideas reflected kindness, inclusion and respect, highlighting how we can all play a part in creating a caring community. This meaningful experience will continue to support the children as they develop strong relationships and a deeper understanding of others.
