Our Key Stage 1 learners became budding scientists as they explored how to plant sunflower seeds. Each child carefully filled their pot with soil, made a small hole, placed their seed inside, covered it with more soil and gave it a gentle watering. Through this hands-on experience, the children began to understand what plants need to grow and the importance of caring for living things.
The activity helped develop their knowledge of plant life cycles and encouraged responsibility as they took ownership of their own sunflower. The children are excited to watch their seeds grow over the coming weeks and to continue learning about the natural world around them.
