Last Friday, our Year 6 children hosted a fantastic Summer Fayre, and what a wonderful afternoon it was!
It was great to see so many children embracing the Country and Western theme, with plenty of cowboys, cowgirls and western-inspired outfits on display. The themed dress helped create a fun atmosphere, and the children thoroughly enjoyed visiting the wide variety of stalls and activities organised by Year 6.
The event was organised as part of the Make £5 Grow challenge, kindly supported by Virgin Money. Over the past few weeks, our Year 6 pupils have worked incredibly hard, demonstrating fantastic teamwork, creativity and entrepreneurial skills as they planned, prepared and ran the fayre for the rest of the school.
We are delighted to share that the children not only repaid their £250 loan in full but also made an incredible £726 profit! This money will now be used to provide a special end-of-year reward for our Year 6 children as they celebrate the end of their time at Windy Nook Primary School.
A huge well done also goes to the 10 children from Years 3, 4 and 5 who independently organised and ran their own bracelet stall. Their hard work and kindness resulted in an amazing £103.35 profit, which they have chosen to donate to Bryson’s Animal Shelter. What a fantastic example of generosity, teamwork and community spirit!
