This week, Years 3 and 4 had a super trip to Bede’s World Anglo-Saxon Farm. Our day out was the perfect way to boost our learning in this term’s Anglo-Saxons topic.
We saw a reconstruction of an Anglo-Saxon farm – including meeting real-life animals that the Anglo-Saxons would have kept. We also learned about their weaponry and battle strategies. Plus, there was another brilliant workshop where we learned how to make textiles.
The trip was so enriching for all involved. We took our learning from the classroom over the past few weeks and were able to engage very effectively in each workshop.
Another highlight was meeting Wednesday, the farm cat!
