This half term, our Lower Key Stage 2 children have been exploring branching databases!
The children have been developing their computational thinking skills by sorting and classifying information using questions with yes/no answers. They have learnt how to organise data, identify similarities and differences, and use logical thinking to narrow down choices.
Through practical activities, the children have been creating and exploring branching databases, asking questions and following different pathways to identify objects and information.
They have been developing key computing skills, including:
Logical thinking – using clues to make decisions.
Sorting and classifying – grouping items according to their features.
Questioning – creating clear questions to separate different items.
Organising data – understanding how information can be represented in a branching structure.
Problem-solving – following pathways to reach the correct answer.
Fantastic work, Lower Key Stage 2! We are so proud of the way you have been developing your computing knowledge and problem-solving skills!
