This week, KS1 children in Owls, Robins and Nightingales became digital photographers as they explored how to take successful photographs using iPads. The children experimented with taking a variety of photographs, including pictures of buildings, people, selfies, close-up shots and photographs taken from further away. They carefully considered what made each photograph effective and discussed how different distances and angles can change the image.
An important part of our learning was understanding how to use technology responsibly. The children talked about the importance of asking permission before taking someone’s photograph and learned how to treat others respectfully when using digital devices. They reflected on their work, sharing what went well and identifying the techniques that helped them capture their best images. We are excited to continue developing our photography and computing skills in the coming weeks.
