Over the last two weeks, Elms class have started work on the Speak Up, Gateshead! project, which is designed to improve children’s oracy skills. We have worked on presentational skills such as voice projection and begun to put together our presentations about the perfect playtime. We will then apply these skills to a presentation about a topic of our own choice. The skills we practise as part of this unit of work will be valuable through our next steps in education and out in the wider world. The children are really enjoying the opportunity to share ideas and are already developing greater confidence for public speaking.
