This week the Bluebells have taken on the role of scientists to conduct an experiment investigating how temperature affects evaporation.
The children all learnt about evaporation when they had a lesson on the water cycle. With this previous knowledge the Bluebells made predictions about which location the water would evaporate in quickest.
The locations we chose were: outside the classroom, inside the classroom, on the window sill, in a cupboard and in the fridge. Some members of class helped to measure out the water and place it in the different locations. They recorded the initial temperature and then measured how much was still in the cup at different intervals over the following days,.
These results will be shared as a class in next week’s lesson, to see if their predictions were right!
