Partitioning Baby Large’s Toys

For Maths Owls have been using the story they read in English of Five Minutes Peace to help them partition a whole amount using a Part-Part-Whole model. Baby Large had a ‘whole’ trunk full of toys. He wanted to split them with Mrs Large into ‘parts’. So he parted them 2 ways. The children could explain what part 1 was and part 2 was and the whole.

Article 1: Everyone, under 18, has the rights of the UN Convention.

Article 2: All children have rights. No child should be treated unfairly.

Article 12: you have the right to an opinion and to be listened to.

Article 13: You have the right to find out things and share what you think with others, by talking, drawing, writing or in any other way unless it harms or offends other people.

Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.

Article 42: You have the right to know your rights! Adults should know about these rights and help you learn about them too.
