As part of a scientific investigation into the effects of exercise, Snowdrops have been working on their fitness! To test whether our stamina would improve with more exercise, we have done speed bounce. This has involved jumping from side to side and counting how many jumps we could complete in 30 seconds. For a test of how our muscular strength might increase, we have done squats.
So far, the results suggest that cardiovascular fitness and muscular fitness are on a steady increase; many children have beaten their speed-bounce score and have been able to work their thigh muscles for longer during squats.
We have begun to write this experiment into our science books, making predictions and using lots of scientific vocabulary. We await the final results, with more fitness tests next week.
