Years 5 and 6 were visited today by the RNLI.
They gave us an interesting and interactive talk on how to have fun and stay safe near open water.
It was interesting to hear where in the North we can find the coast guard, life boats and lifeguards and also see what equipment the RNLI use during an everyday incident.
We stopped to think about the dangers we might face in water around our coasts and looked at how we could stay safe by staying with others when out without grownups as well as always telling people where we are going and having a phone with us at all times.
We then practised what we should do if we ever found ourselves suddenly falling into cold water. We had lots of fun practising floating and calling out for help correctly.
