Article 24: You have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.
LITERACY: Complete 1 writing caption from the caption booklet. – Post on tapestry so that we can support and guide future writing individually.
Parent tips: Try and sit your child at a table to write. Use a pencil. Talk about the picture, make us stories around the picture. Remember all children need to be able to write 3 letter words. Other words may be spelt phonetically (therefore not correct). If it is a good attempt, for example, porridge = porij, then try to avoid correcting. This term we are really pushing handwriting and expect children to use their best writing, using tall letter, short letters and try to sit letter on the line.
PHONICS:

MATHS:(20 mins) Daily – Count reliably with numbers from one to 20 (forwards and backwards). Quick fire 1 more than 1 less than. (1 more than 3, 1 less than 6.)
• Use numicon cards mixed up and face down. Ask chn to pick two at random. Using part, part, whole method can they do simple addition. How many is there altogether?
• Remind children of Oliver’s Fruit Salad story. Explain that you are going to halve item of fruit or veg for lunch today. What can you share? For example ask how can we half an apple, half a cake, half a pizza so that we can have a half each? Then practically half the items of food discussing how each half is the same.
• Choose a pile of toys, e.g. blocks, counters, figures etc. How many do you have? Can we halve them between us? Now try a different amount can we halve these between us? What happens if there are three people now, can we share the toys between us all? How many do we get each? Repeat with a different amount.
