Snowdrops’ home learning 23.4.20

Hello Snowdrops,

Again, thanks for all your hard work. As we approach the end of the week, I hope you’re staying well and enjoying schoolwork. Today, I hope you’ll enjoy the activities I’ve set for you.

English: Use your HOME LEARNING books to practise some of the spelling patterns from this week: il, mis and dis prefixes and tion suffixes. Use the Spelling Menu and be creative! There is a grammar activity on PURPLE MASH called ‘Mark Wants Chicken.’ Your main writing activity is to record a short conversation with you and a family member e.g. brother/sister. After about one minute of recording, write down the full chat you had. Remember SPEECH MARKS. Use your HOME LEARNING BOOKS to write down the dialogue (speech). Try to use different words for said in your reporting clauses e.g.

“What’s your favourite film?” asked Kelly.

“It’s definitely The Greatest Showman,” replied Shaun.

Maths: Some fun games to play on PURPLE MASH, followed by a multiplication/division task (also on PURPLE MASH). Keep using TT Rock Stars – we’re currently beating Tulips! Can you help to increase our score?

Reading: Can you read TWO texts on Reading Plus please? Some of you have read over ten THOUSAND words! One person in Snowdrops has read FORTY-SIX THOUSAND WORDS!!! A huge well done to them!

https://onlinesequencer.net/ Keep having a go at this. I’m sure you’re better at making music on it than me. I’d love to hear some of your work when we’re back.

www.french-games.net Keep practising this too. Miss Crowe, Miss Hogg and I will be giving you your NEW FRENCH TOPIC next week!

Au Revoir!
