Well it looks as though everyone had a fantastic day celebrating VE Day 75th anniversary. You have all been busy making bunting, flags, completing crosswords, making gas masks, having afternoon tea, bbq’s, dressing up and researching some amazing facts.
Ellie & Alex Graham from Tulips & Ladybirds listened to some 1940’s songs and talked about rationing and their great grandad who had drove a tank in the war (his picture is on the table). They also talked to their next door neighbour who’s dad is 97 and was shot down over Germany but survived and fell by parachute into where American soldiers were. He still lives in Heworth and is called Jimmy.
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely photos of you all on this special day.
