Here are the activities for today.

Article 24: You have the right to the best health care possible, safe water to drink, nutritious food, a clean and safe environment, and information to help you stay well.
Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.

LITERACY:

Phase 2 –

• Today we are looking at the phoneme or, as in ‘or shut the door’ for words such as sort, short.
• Write words out for child to blend. – for, fork, sort, born, worn, torn, hard, park, cook, boot. Adult to say the sentence “Will a fish forget things?” children to write it.

Mathematics:

(20 mins) Daily count up to a given number (up to 30). Count back from 20. Quick fire 1 more than 1 less than. (1 more than 3, 1 less than 6.)

• Use the numbers in the pack to order number. Can your child order the numbers from 1-10 or 1-20.
• Use the pompoms in your pack. How many are there? Can you write that number. Can you take two handfuls. Using part, part, whole method can you do simple addition. How many are there altogether?
• Use number cards 11 to 20. Place face down. Select one card at random. Can children say what is one more and one less. Repeat. Use numberline to support if needed.

• Walk the plank number bond game – outdoor. Adult give the child 2 numbers to add together – using a number line (drawn with chalk) to count on. 5 +3 = 8. Children to jump off the plank at the correct number. Repeat with different numbers.

Other:

• We have had some sunny weather that we have been enjoying whether it is playing outside, going for walks or bike rides or working outside. Once of the things that we need to be careful of is staying safe in the sun. There is a power point that you can look at on Twinkl called Keeping safe in the sun. • Keeping safe in the sun – Now that we are in the summer season and the weather will be getting hotter. Can you make a poster about how you can stay safe in the sun?
