The Robins and Owls received a new reading book and diary today, please can we ask that they be kept at home throughout the week and returned on a Friday. This is to keep in line with COVID safe procedures in school and to allow the books to be quarantined once they have been returned. The children are currently being assessed for Phonics as this will allow us to see what level of reading the children are currently working at, so we can provide the children with the appropriate level/colour of reading book moving forward. For now, the children have been provided with the level/colour book they were reading before lock down. Please keep your child’s reading book and diary at home from Monday to Friday, they will be provided with the same level of book at school when reading with the teacher in class. If the children have read up to 4 times within a week, they will receive a reading award (dip in the bag) on the following Monday, if they have read up to 3 times they will receive a house point. New reading books will be handed out every Monday and so we would recommend the children bring a book bag or bag in every Monday to safely carry home their reading books and diaries at the end of the day.
Homework will be provided in the coming weeks and will follow the same procedure of being handed out on a Monday and returned on a Friday.
