Bluebells moved on to some tricky addition and subtraction skills on Thursday this week. Mrs Prynn had the children trialling different methods for adding and subtracting numbers where the tens column changes. For example, 58 + 3 = 61.
These skills can be really challenging but Bluebells have gained a solid foundation for the coming weeks – where they will be adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers! We looked at using Base 10 and place value grids as well as number lines and column addition.
With these tricks and skills, the Bluebells can become Maths Wizards in no time!
