It is possible that the government may again offer shopping/food vouchers for the approaching school holidays, or in the event of another school closure. To receive these you need to be registered as entitled to means tested Free School Meals. If your child is in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and currently receives Universal Infant Free School Meals they will not qualify for a voucher unless you have applied for free school meals through Gateshead Council (linked to income and benefits). If you currently pay for school meals and your circumstances have changed, you may qualify.
