Don’t hog the hedge!

This week in the Robins we have been learning about hibernation in science. We looked more closely at why hedgehogs hibernate and what they do before they hibernate. We read a story in class called ‘Don’t Hog the Hedge!’ about ‘Hattie the hedgehog’ who shared her hedge with other hibernators and there wasn’t much room left for her. The Robins worked in groups to try and create a new home suitable for Hattie the hedgehog to hibernate.

We also started to get into the festive spirit by putting up our class Christmas tree. We have been taking part in ‘Winter Runderland’ where we need to do physical activity, which helps us collect carrots to power Santa’s sleigh around the world. We need 300 carrots in total (one minute of exercise = 1 carrot). So far, the Robins have collected 83 carrots. Another great week for the Robins!
