Here is a daily plan for today for all reception children at home. We will be moving to set work and teach some live lessons using google classrooms within the next few days. You should have received an email with the details. Please log on to google classrooms ASAP to become familiar with google classroom before live lessons begin tomorrow.

Phonics

https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/2/flashcards-speed-trials – play the first game. Choose phase 2. Move in to phase 3 if your child finds phase 2 too easy.

Choose phase 2. Ask your child to sound out the words and match them to the correct picture.
Keep a note of some of the words (5 or 6 words). Say each word and ask your child to sound it out and write it.
Literacy

Help your child sound out the words to read the sentences and answer the questions. Read 4/5 sentences. Choose a sentence that is simple to answer. For example, “Can a man run?”. Ask your child to answer the question using the words from the question, for example, “A man can run.” Children are expected to sound out the words and make a good attempt at writing them. The children should make a good attempt at writing all the words correctly. Remember, do not ask your child to copy words.
Maths
Use the numbers that you made yesterday. 1-10 or 1-20 depending on the confidence of your child with the number order / recognition. Show the numbers in a random order. Can your child order the numbers?

Play the game – higher or lower. Use the number line to discuss what numbers are next to, in between, more than, less than etc. Repeat the game.
