Dear parents and carers,
I hope that you have had a good Christmas break and have enjoyed the time you have spent with your children. I am just writing to confirm that we are planning to open as normal on Tuesday 5th January. You may have seen media reports about teaching unions suggesting teachers should not return to work or social media posts from other local schools saying that they will not be reopening fully. This is not the case for our school. We will open as planned on Tuesday unless, in the meantime, there is a change made by the Government. We will continue to do all we can to make school as safe as possible and support our children and community; however, the situation will be regularly reviewed, and any further action taken if it is deemed necessary. Please be aware that we often receive official information about what is happening for schools after it has reached the media, but we will keep you informed of anything we hear. We have lists of parents who are classed as key workers from the first lock down; however, if your situation has changed and you are now classed as a key worker then please let the school office know.
As was the case before the Christmas break, the classroom windows will be slightly opened. The internal doors (opening onto the corridors) will also need be open to aid the ventilation within school. I would therefore recommend you send the children in with an extra layer of clothing just to ensure they are warm enough when learning. If we are to experience bad weather, we will follow the winter weather procedures policy which you can find on the school website.
I have included below the start and finish times for each class and would ask that you continue to stick to the agreed times so that we have as few people as possible on site at any one time. I would also like to remind you of the importance of maintaining social distancing when on and around the school site.
Thanks again for your support and cooperation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Many thanks
Lucie Forrest
