Home Learning Reading Books January 2021

Home Learning Reading books KS1

We have uploaded some of the RWinc reading books to the class pages on the website so they can be accessed at home. Your child’s teacher will text you this week to let you know which colour book to access.

Please choose one book a week from that colour band so your child can work on their fluency. We want children’s confidence with reading to increase so reading the same book frequently will help with this. Once they can read the book fluently it is important to focus on their comprehension skills so asking them questions about the text will help (see below).

Your child can also sign up to https://www.getepic.com/

The site has lots of ebooks that are read aloud to children while the words are highlighted. They can have up to 2 hours a week to choose from a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books. Your child’s teacher will send you a class code this week so you can sign up.
