We have had another busy week in nursery! We have focused on the story of A Super Hero Like You by Ranj Singh, which is about key workers and the important and valuable jobs that they all do. Our hospital role-play has been popular this week. It has been lovely to observe the children display their caring and nurturing sides while pretending to be doctors and nurses, looking after each other and our ‘sick and injured’ dolls.
We had a lot of fun in the snow again and exploring the school grounds this week. We used the cold weather to our advantage and became scientists. We collected some natural materials like leaves and twigs in containers and then added some water. We left the containers outside to see what will happen the water and natural materials. We are going to find out what has happened to them on Monday. We used scientific words like; experiment, liquid, solid and temperature and we talked about what might happen to the water with different weather conditions. A lot of the children predicted that the water might freeze in cold weather.
