Good morning Year 1,
Login to Google classroom to view todays tasks. Live meets will be at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1pm.
Todays learning is as follows:
Phonics: Our sound today is ‘oi’. Watch the video to learn todays sound and practise the spellings at the end of the video. Then play Make a Match, phase 3, week 5 and click on the phase 3 digraphs. Can you read the word and match it to the correct picture.
Handwriting – practise writing the letter ‘v’ from your handwriting pack.
English – GAP – Today we are going to look at how the exclamation mark is used to tell the reader the word should be said with intonation/emotion. Use the sheet in your home learning pack and read each word with no expression. Then cut and stick an exclamation mark after each word and read each word with expression. Can you hear the difference?
Reading – If you didn’t pick a new book yesterday from the school website. See if you can pick one today for this week!
Main task – Can you choose one of the black and white sea creature pictures and complete it using LOTS of colour. Then write noun phrases around the picture to describe your sea creature. Use the Rainbow Fish model for support if you need to. Record your ideas clearly as we will be using these later in the week.
Maths: Speed calc – Complete the questions on pages 10 and 11 of your Maths CPG book in your home learning packs.
Listen to the 2 x table song to help support you with your 2 x table facts.
Main task – Today we are going to be recapping on how to use a number line to add and find missing numbers. I will be modelling this in our live session this morning.
Your task is to use your number line to find the answer. Circle the answer to your sum on your number line each time and then count back the number you are given. Can you find the missing number in your sentence each time to solve the addition sums.
History: This half term we have been looking at castles. Over the years there have been a lot of different types of castles built as they have been changed and adapted.
Main Task – Watch the mini guide to how medieval castles changed and adapted. Then read the power point on the history of castles. Can you cut and stick the photos to create a timeline of castles from oldest to newest. (This can be found either in this week’s home learning pack.)
Don’t forget to take a picture of your finished timeline so that we can see it.
