Good morning Year 1,
Login to Google classroom to view todays tasks. Live meets will be at 9:30am, 11:00am and 1pm
Todays learning is as follows:
English – Spelling task – We are looking at how if we add an ‘e’ to the end of a word it can create a completely new word.
Can you write the following words down in your book and add the e to see which word it makes.
Cap + e =
Tub + e =
Pet + e =
Kit + e =
Hop + e =
Reading – Read the book you have chosen this week.
Main task – Can you watch the Rainbow Fish clip again to refresh your memory.
Take a look at the sea creature you created yesterday. Can you tell your grown up any of the noun phrases you wrote to describe it? Can you use those noun phrases to help you write a description using full sentences.
Remember your sentences should include capital letters, full stops, finger spaces, ‘and’, !.
Maths- Speed Calc – Complete the subtraction questions on pages 12 and 13 in your Maths CGP book. You will find this in your home learning pack.
Watch the 2 x table song to help support your knowledge of the 2 x table facts.
Can you play ‘whats my number?’ with your grown up. Place a number above your head without looking and ask your grown up questions about it until you can guess the number. Use questions like ‘is it more than…, is it less than…, is it odd…, is is even…, does it have three tens…, does it have four ones?’
Task – Today we are going to compare numbers within 50. Look at each question on your sheet and write down the number represented in each picture. Can you then use the correct coloured dot to show how many? Use the number grid (in your home learning pack) to help support you find each number’s position in the number system and decide which coloured dot to use. (This will be modelled in today’s live meet.)
History – This half term we have been looking at castles and have seen that over the years there have been a lot of different types of castles built as they have been changed and adapted. Today we are going to look at Motte and Bailey castles and concentric castles.
Main Task – Compare the two castles using a table. Can you identify the different features, why did they change? What makes a good castle? (The sheet can be found in this week’s home learning pack.)
