Can you name any superheroes?
Listen to the superhero song on the link, can you spot the ones you have thought of in this song?
Take a look at the superhero pictures can you cut and stick the words to match the superhero to their name?
Have a think about this question for our live meet tomorrow –
Do you know any superheroes? Have you met any superheroes?
Maths: Speed Calc – Today our speed calc is looking at 3D shapes. Can you listen as your grownup asks you each of the questions at the bottom of the page. Circle the answer you think for each question. (We will do this together in our live meet.)
Main – We are going to be continuing with measure but this week looking at using weight. Can you tell your grown up what key vocabulary we might use when talking about weight?
We use scales to find out how much something weighs and today we are going to use ourselves as a human scale. (We will be modelling this in our live meet.)
Can you put a bottle of water in one hand and a pencil in the other. Why has one hand gone down? Is it the lighter or heavier object that has made your hand go down? Can you tell your grownup what would happen if both of the objects weighed the same?
When we describe the difference in weight we can use the stem sentences:
The ________ is heavier than the ________.
The ________ is lighter than the ________.
The ________ is equal to the ________.
Task – Select some objects from around your house and use yourself to compare their weights. Can you write down the stem sentences to record the different weights? E.g. The book is heavier than the cushion.
RE – Did you know that last week it was Shrove Tuesday? Did you do anything for it? Did you have pancakes or do anything else? Can you tell your grown up why you think we have Shrove Tuesday?
Read through the Shrove Tuesday power point that is attached to find out more about it.
Shrove Tuesday is the last day before Lent starts. Can you tell your grown up what you think Lent is? Why do you think Christians take part in it?
Read through Lent power point that is attached to find out more.
TASK – What might you give up if you were taking part in Lent. Why would you choose this? Can you fill in the Lent sheet in your home learning pack to say what you would give up and why. Then can you draw a picture of this item.
