From the 22nd to the 26th of March is ‘Express Yourself: North East Festival of Languages’. It is a celebration of the diverse languages, cultures and communities in the region and our connections with the world. There’s something for everyone!
The festival invites people in the North East of all ages and all backgrounds to share their own languages and cultures and learn about others. There are lots of free events, activities and resources introducing new and creative ways to learn, speak and teach languages. Many are available already, with live events in Festival Week 22-26 March 2021.
In school this week we will be exploring various new languages and cultures by joining in with some of the live workshops and other activities. The activities will be fun, interactive and enriching for the children. You can join with some of the workshops and activities from home, for example you can acces such cooking videos in French, learning BSL and even ‘how to talk like a Geordie’.
