This term, Lower Key Stage 2 have been studying Pop Art. This was an art movement which came out of 1950s USA and challenged more traditional art, with styles inspired by comic books and advertising.
The children of Bluebells, Snowdrops and Tulips have been creating self-portraits in the Pop-Art style, by tracing their photograph and focusing on representing particular features to give the look of a comic-book picture.
After they had traced their face, the children added Pop-Art features such as Ben Day dots and block colours. Speech bubbles and other Pop-Art-inspired additions will come next week.
Well done everyone for your brilliant art!
