This past week, Elms have been looking at balanced arguments. Last Thursday, children argued over whether or not pupils should have to wear school uniforms. This week we took a vote and children wanted to debate over whether pets should be allowed in school. Children researched some facts and created a for and against table in their books. They then got into teams to have a go at debating in a group. We talked about the skills needed for debating, such as listening and speaking clearly. The class were then split into two, where we began to debate all together. It’s safe to say a few of our discussions got a little heated!
Article 28: You have the right to a good quality education. You should be encouraged to go to school to the highest level you can.
