This term the children in Owls and Robins have been researching, designing, creating and evaluating fruit salads for DT.
We began our topic by discussing what we already knew about fruit salads and whether or not we had eaten one before. We researched different types of fruit salad and discussed what we liked and disliked in each one.
We then carried out a taste test to see which fruits we liked and disliked the taste of so we would know what we wanted to include in our fruit salads. We looked at 5 different fruits and discussed their appearances, taste and texture.
We then designed our own fruit salad and thought about how we would prepare each piece of fruit.
Then we did the really fun part and used the equipment to make our own fruit salads. Once we had made the final product we were able to eat them!! They were delicious!
The last part of our topic was to evaluate our fruit salad and we talked about how we could change or improve them next time.
