Login to Google classroom to view today’s tasks. Live meets will be at 9:30am and 10:30am.

Todays learning is as follows:

Phonics: Our sound today is ‘ear’.

Watch the video to learn todays sound, practise the spellings at the end of the video.

At the end can you hold a sentence – I can see there is a clear sky.

Play buried treasure on the phonics play website. Select phase 4 or 5.

English –

Spelling task – Rainbow spellings. Can you write each spelling along a line in pencil then go over with different coloured felt tip pens or pencils.

Main  – Can I illustrate a poem?

Click on today’s seaside poem called ‘Seaside Song’ Do you recognise some of theses things described from when you have visited the beach? Take a look at the poem, it only has words on the page. Can you tell your grown up how we could bring it more to life? What would make it more exciting to read?

Task – Can you illustrate the poem to bring the words to life? What pictures could you draw?
Either draw the illustrations on a separate piece of paper to show how you would illustrate the poem or if you want to you could write out the poem first in the middle of your page and then draw illustrations around it.

Maths:  L.I Can I compare time?

Today we are going to take part in some practical activities to help us understand time as seconds, minutes and hours. There is 60 seconds in 1 minute and 60 minutes in 1 hour.

Which one do you think is the longest amount of time?
When do we used seconds and minutes?
What kind of things can we do that would take seconds? Minutes? Hours?

Tasks Can you use the stopwatch/timer on your grown ups phone or computer to record how long
it takes you to do the following tasks:

1. How many star jumps in 20 seconds and in 1 minutes?

2. How long does it take you to write
your name?

3. How many times can you throw and catch a ball in 30 seconds and in 1 minute?

4. How long does it take you to say the alphabet?

Reasoning –Look at the link. Can you read the clock, what time does it say? Tommy thinks the time is 6 past 1. What mistake has he made?

Problem solving Read the clock and the description. Can you put the hands on the clock and write down what time it is showing?

RE – Can I understand why the Lord’s prayer is important to Christians?

Starter – The disciples saw that Jesus prayed a lot. He often got up very early in the morning before the sun rose and went to a quiet place to pray. They asked Jesus to teach them to pray. He gave them this example of prayer and Christians now call it the Lord’s Prayer.

Main – Can you click on the link below to see the slide show for ‘What Jesus taught us’  If you like read through the slide show to hear about Jesus’ different sermons.
Take a look at the final slide to look at the Lord’s Prayer.
Read the Lord’s Prayer with your grown up. Can you tell them what you think it means?

Task – Can you draw a speech bubble or click on the attached file below. What would you like to say to God? Can you write it down inside your speech bubble?
