We have had an excellent day with Chris Knox from Wilderness Schooling today. We used flint and steels to light fires so that we could roast marshmallows and make charcoal. We thoroughly enjoyed drawing with the charcoal once it had cooled down. We leaned how a storm kettle works and had some hot chocolate made with the boiled water from the kettle. We made ‘Gods eyes’ using twigs and wool and we made some mini shelters using natural materials that we found in our school grounds. We also used a bill hook to split wood and a saw to cut wood, which was used on our fire. A good day was had by all!
