Fire! Fire! Fire!

Article 13: You have the right to find out things and share what you think with others, by talking, drawing, writing or in any other way unless it harms or offends other people.

Owls have loved learning all about The Great Fire of London. To help them understand more how in 1666 there were no fire services, phones or hoses to help put out the fire, just leather buckets and locals, they re-in acted being ‘Londoner’s’ putting out the fire in Pudding Lane.

The children stood in a line passing water in a bucket that had been filled up from the ‘River Thames’ to help put out the fire. They communicated with each other to make sure no water was spilt as they knew every dropped counted. Once at the end of the line they carefully threw the water over ‘the roaring flames’ to help put out the fire and to stop it spreading further.
