As part of our Romans topic, Bluebells, Snowdrops and Tulips have been designing and making clay tiles and adding mosaic squares.
After using squared paper to design the layout and colour pattern of their tile, the three classes have used clay to begin creating the real thing.
The children had to mould, manipulate and roll the clay, before scoring the square pattern into the tile.
In the coming weeks, the children will paint their mosaic tiles and make them look truly Roman. We can’t wait to see the finished version!
