This term, UKS2 have been learning all about electricity. We recapped our knowledge from previous years and started to build on this by looking at the scientific symbols to draw a circuit. We then began looking specifically at voltage, what it means and how it may affect components in a circuit. Children had a go at testing out different questions such as, ‘Does the length of the wires affect the components in the circuit’.
Our main Scientific enquiry this term was a fair test, where we explored the question, ‘Does the voltage of a battery or cell affect the brightness of a bulb?’ Children were great at creating their circuits and observing the different affects the varying batteries had on their lightbulbs. Children recorded their work in their books, evaluating their results like true Scientists!
