In June, the children in year 4 will participate in the multiplication tables check. The purpose of the check is to determine whether children can fluently recall their times tables up to 12. Having a good understanding of times tables in year 4 will greatly benefit the children as they move up to year 5, 6 and secondary school. The check is carried out online, where the children are given 25 multiplication questions to answer. They will be given 6 seconds to answer each question, meaning children need to have a fast recall of their multiplication facts. For more information on the multiplications check please click the link below to access an information booklet. Alternatively you can ask Miss Hogg or Mr Brown for more information.

In school, the children have daily times tables practices. Each week the children have opportunities on the chrome books, laptops or computers to use online platforms to practice their times tables to prepare them for the multiplication check. Any further practice children can do at home would be greatly appreciated.
The website below simulates the multiplication check and is used by children in school.
