There has been a significant increase in children being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and for some children being admitted to hospital displaying symptoms of Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) which is a serious condition that can happen when the bodies of people with diabetes start to run out of insulin
Diabetes UK are running a campaign across the North of England to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of type 1 in children and young people. The attached poster gives information on what to look out for.
